This maple espresso glaze icing is hands down my favorite glaze ever. Made with maple syrup, freshly brewed coffee, and confectioners' sugar, this is the perfect glaze for muffins, cookies, and loaf cakes. I've used it on my pumpkin pecan muffins, and it made those muffins next level. You only need a bowl and a whisk to make it!

This is the glaze that I can't get enough of, and seriously want to put it on everything! It's made with just a few ingredients but packs such a punch. I've drizzled it on muffins, pound cakes, and dipped cookies in it. I think it would also be amazing as a glaze for donuts or scones!
You can easily make it thinner or thicker by adding more heavy cream or confectioners' sugar.
Grab Your Ingredients!

- Maple Extract: This is totally optional but it will give you a much stronger maple flavor.
- Coffee: I've tested this recipe with both freshly brewed coffee from my Nespresso machine, but I've also used instant espresso powder. You can also use decaf coffee!
- Confectioners' Sugar: Make sure you sift the sugar first, that way you get rid of any lumps!
How to Make This Glaze

Whisk the maple syrup, maple extract (if using), coffee, salt, and confectioner's sugar together until smooth. Depending on the brand of confectioners' sugar, you may need to add 2-3 tablespoons of heavy cream or milk to get the right consistency.
Recipes you can use this with:
- Pour it over a loaf cake like I did with my cinnamon pound cake.
- Drizzle it over muffins, I did that with these pumpkin pecan muffins with streusel!
- Dip cookies in it, like an iced oatmeal cookie! I used this glaze with my cardamom oatmeal cookies.

Ingredients
Maple Espresso Glaze
- ½ tablespoon freshly brewed coffee
- drop maple extract optional
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- ½ cup (56 grams) confectioner's sugar sifted
- pinch kosher salt
- 2-3 tablespoons heavy cream
Instructions
Glaze
- In a bowl or jug, whisk together all of the glaze ingredients except the heavy cream. It should be thick. If too thick, add a drizzle of heavy cream. If too thin, add more confectioners' sugar!½ tablespoon freshly brewed coffee, drop maple extract, 1 tablespoon maple syrup, ½ cup (56 grams) confectioner's sugar, pinch kosher salt, 2-3 tablespoons heavy cream
- Use immediately and enjoy!
