this Homemade strawberry crunch topping is perfect for sprinkling over desserts! It's made with just 4 simple ingredients and is naturally pink thanks to the freeze-dried strawberries. I love using this on top of cheesecakes, cupcakes and frosted cookies!
In a food processor or blender, blend together the golden Oreo cookies and freeze dried strawberries until you have coarse crumbs. The cookies should be in very small pieces and you shouldn't have large pieces left.
12 golden Oreos, 1 cup freeze dried strawberries
Pour the mixture into a large or medium bowl and pour over the melted butter and salt. Mix everything together until the crumbs are evenly moist. This makes 1 ½ cups.
pinch kosher salt, 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
Sprinkle on top of cakes, cupcakes, frosted cookies, cheesecakes or ice cream!

This recipe makes 1 ½ cups of topping. Freeze Dried Strawberries: you can find these online, at Target or at Trader Joe's. Do not substitute in frozen strawberries!Storage: Keep in an airtight container or ziploc bag in the fridge for up to a week. Food Processor: if you don't have a food processor, place the cookies and strawberries in a ziplock bag and crush with a rolling pin.
