White Forest Cake

Combine softened butter with oil and sugar until creamy and fluffy.

Add vanilla and almond extract. Then add 4 eggs one at a time, beating well after each one.

Whisk all of the dry ingredients in a separate bowl. 

Add the dry ingredients in 3 additions, alternating with buttermilk.

Bake in 2 cake pans and let cool completely. 

Make the cherry filling. Combine all the ingredients and cook until very thick and glossy.

Whip heavy cream until you have stiff peaks. 

Assemble your cake! Spread half the whipped cream on top, then cover with cherry filling. Repeat once more.
