Vanilla Cake with Strawberry Filling

Combine softened butter with oil and sugar until creamy and fluffy.

Add vanilla extract. Then add 4 eggs one at a time, beating well after each one.

Whisk all of the dry ingredients in a separate bowl. 

Add the dry ingredients in 3 additions, alternating with buttermilk.

Bake in 2 cake pans and let cool completely. 

Make the frosting. Combine butter with confectioners' sugar.

Blend freeze dried strawberries. Pour this powder into the frosting and mix.

Pipe a border of frosting on 1 cake layer and then add strawberry jam. 

Place the second layer on top and frost the cake. Decorate with strawberries!
