Oatmeal Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies

Step 1: Brown your butter. Melt butter in a pan over medium-low until it begins to brown. Pour into a bowl to cool.

Step 2: While the brown butter cools, toast your walnuts. Place in a baking dish at 350F for 5-7 minutes. 

Step 3: Whisk the flour with the spices, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.

Step 4: Add the light brown sugar, sugar and vanilla extract to the butter. Then whisk in the eggs. 

Step 5: Pour the dry ingredients into the wet and stir until just combined. 

Step 6: Stir in the rolled oats until just combined. Use rolled oats or old fashioned oats!

Step 7: Stir in the chocolate chips and toasted walnuts. Chill in the fridge for 45 minutes or up to overnight. 

Step 8: Scoop out the cookie dough onto prepared baking sheets and bake!
