Caramel Filled Cupcakes

Whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. 

Beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. 

Add eggs and vanilla extract, make sure to scrape sides and bottom of the bowl! 

Pour in sour cream, then add dry ingredients and buttermilk in 3 additions. 

Fill your cupcake liners and bake! This makes 12-14 cupcakes. 

Make caramel! Melt sugar in a saucepan, allowing the sugar to turn brown. 

Let the dissolved sugar turn a dark amber then add butter. 

Pour in heavy cream, vanilla extract and salt. Let it cool. 

Make frosting! Beat butter and confectioners' sugar together until fluffy.

Add your caramel, salt and some heavy cream. Beat until super smooth! 

Make a hole in each cupcake and fill with caramel. 

Frost each cupcake and drizzle some extra caramel sauce on top!
